The White Mountain Lodge, the first homestead in Greer, was built in 1892 as a pioneer family home. Over the years, farming and ranching gave way to a variety of outdoor recreational activities and the Greer area became a retreat in 1940 for residents of the Old Pueblo (Tucson) and the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix). Today this historic Lodge had been remodeled into cottage suites and main lodge offering a cool summer getaway amongst the pines, aspens, lakes and rivers. In the winter and early spring skiers enjoy the warmth and coziness of mountain lodging just minutes from Sunrise Ski Resort. Click here to tour the Main Lodge
The Main Lodge Building is bound by highway 373 on the north and national forest on the south overlooking the breathtaking Amberon Flat Meadow and the Little Colorado River. The Lodge affords guests spectacular natural scenery, fishing, hiking and boundless wildlife at its back door. Maps are available showing the locations of lakes, streams, hiking and biking trails as well as day trips.
Over 5,000 square feet of lodging is available to large groups. These areas include the entrance lobby, living room, game room, dining room, solarium, dining room, kitchen and family room that allow for many activities at one time. Covered porches in front and back provide ample outdoor gathering areas. The back yard has a large grass area that is adjacent to a beaver pond on the Little Colorado River.
Large Groups, Family Reunions, Corporate and Church Retreats are welcome at The White Mountain Lodge for groups up to 24. With a total of 6 bedrooms/suites, 6 baths, 4 kitchens/kitchenettes and 5 fireplaces you can reserve the space you need. On site cabins can be reserved if additional space is needed.
